I obtained the title of DDM (Doctor of Dental Medicine) through my education, and in my successful 45-year career, I specialized in working in a small space, measuring 1x1 mm, within a limited time frame, where the main goal was to achieve smooth surfaces and customer satisfaction, thus ensuring my livelihood.
However, 15 years ago, I suddenly felt something unusual and began engaging in artistic creation. Everything changed. In my hands, there were no longer limitations of time, surfaces, or rules. There was no commercial background anymore. Finally, I felt free and connected to God, who expressed Himself through my art.
In addition to the traditional canvas, I started using various materials such as wood, metal, plastic, earth, glass, and discarded materials, giving them a new life and purpose in our expansive universe. During the creative process, neither time nor space exists. At that moment, I am the happiest person in the world.

Nadia is a creative soul who finds immense joy and fulfillment in expressing herself through various mediums. Poetry, writing, and abstract expressionism art are her main crafts. But what truly sets Nadia apart is her penchant for working with a variety of mediums, allowing her artistic process to flourish. For Nadia, embracing different mediums becomes her ideal means of self-expression. It's through this diverse range of creative outlets that she is able to fully explore her thoughts, emotions, and ideas. Whether it's carefully crafting a poem, weaving words into prose, or painting vivid imagery through abstract art, Nadia seamlessly transitions between these artistic forms.
Each medium serves its own distinct purpose in Nadia's artistic journey. Poetry lets her delve into the depths of her emotions, intricately weaving words together to create breathtaking imagery and profound meaning. Born in Greenwich, CT, Emily M. Hopkins received her B.F.A from Pratt Institute in 1987 and an M.S.W. From NYU in 1999.
Her art is inspired by many pivotal aesthetic experiences including living/traveling in Europe, studying Eastern
philosophy/art, and having a lifelong home in Coastal Maine. She is interested in making non-objective artwork that has an
immediate bold impression on the viewer through presence, gesture, richness of color, and symbolism. These works are
about creating an internal psychological & emotional landscape that the viewer can exist in and move through. Artists
she admires include Howard Hodgkin, De Kooning, Joan Mitchell, and Gerhard Richter. She studied Anatomy at RISD (1980),
attended The Art Institute of Chicago (1983), Art Student's League (1984), and a Summer art residency in Venice, Italy
(1985). While living in NYC she exhibited in several group shows including the Schaffler Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (1987). Since
moving to Maine full-time in 2004, with her husband and 2 children, Emily's exhibits include a one-person show at The Yellow
Shed, Rockland in July 2016 and showings at Carver Hill Gallery, Leighton Gallery, Husson College, and the Center for Maine
Contemporary Art. Her work is inspired by the bold elemental forces of nature experienced living in coastal Maine.
